You can sit in on debates in Parliament for free
Try the half-price ticket booth in Leicester Square for theater tickets
College dorm rooms provide bargain lodging during the summer
To save money buy an Oyster card — an electronic card that serves as your ticket. You get reduced fares for a single trip — down to about $3 from $8 for a Tube trip within the central city and $1.80 instead of $4 for a bus ride.
Budget hotels are clustered near train stations, especially Paddington, Victoria, Euston and King’s Cross. The Earl’s Court neighborhood is another option. Book early.

This photo was taken in February of 2006. We stayed at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge right at the entrance. EXPENSIVE, but well worth every dollar spent.

Heading to San Diego/La Jolla next week. I’m looking forward to staying at the Hotel Parisi on Prospect Street in La Jolla. I’ll be eating at Brockton Villa for breakfast, Trattoria Acqua for lunch and George’s Ocean Terrace Bistro for dinner. My culinary reviews of all establishments including the hotel, will be posted upon my return.
